I play League of Legends and really enjoy the in game art style. I have taken one of the characters I find myself playing tons, Malzahar, and recreated him in my own personal style. Along for the ride is one of his voidlings. Enjoy!
I am going to start doing a design/illustration a day on my Tumblr http://boomrocker.tumblr.com/
Blackbird commissioned me to produce the marquee poster for their upcoming show of David Mamet’s Oleanna. Inspired by poster designs of the 1960s, specifically Saul Bass, the central theme of the show is the power struggle and miscommunication between men and women. The apple core speaks to the educational setting that the play takes place within, the yelling male and female faces show the power struggle, and the caption spells it out -The Original Power Play.
Read an an article on the upcoming show.
I am designed the logo for a campaign celebrating the arts in Nashville called “Mozart in Music City“. This is a partnership between BlackBird Theater, Nashville Symphony, Nashville Opera, and Lipscomb University.
The logo is based on varying handwriting of Amadeus Mozart on a music scale. See if you can spot the guitar which is usually mandatory when you use the term Music City. 😉
This year was a blast! My wife and I had the great opportunity to use our individual talents together again this year. I as theater director and stage background artist and her as dance choreographer. The show we produced with the World Outreach Children’s ministry was “The Secret of Snowflake County”. The entire production used both theater, song, dance, acting and choreography with 300+ children.
Here is a sampling of the backgrounds we projected on a giant theater screen the church had already in place for it’s New Years Series.
I recreated the Minecraft HUD (heads up display) and diamond icon. I have made them available in high resolution vector versions in PDF format! If you do use them please post a comment here and share what you did 🙂
There has been a lot of charity activity going on at work, which of course is a good thing. The next one up is a simultaneous chess match. A renowned chess champion, CHALLENGES all HCA Nashville-based employees in a SIMULTANEOUS chess exhibition versus 100 people. Pretty cool concept, and so the poster was born. I designed it as a companion piece to the golf poster collateral I did recently.
I recreated a few of the blocks from Minecraft and the creeper. If you want them come and get them in these high resolution vector versions in easy to use PDF formats! I just ask if you do use them to post a comment here and let me know what you used them for 🙂
The guys at the top Minecraft podcast – The Shaft – will be releasing a 100th episode. The episode is complete with an interview with Minecraft creator Markus Persson aka Notch.
Here is the poster I illustrated to help celebrate the show. I recreated the Minecraft blocks as vector high resolution quality, the Minecraft HUD into vector, and of course the characters.
I was contacted by Wes and Greg at the BlackBird Theater company to do a teaser illustration for a 2 person show they will be adding to their 2013 season. It will be Oleanna by David Mamet – whuch opens Jun 6 at Lipscomb University here in Nashville.
The idea was to portray the complex themes in Oleanna written lightly on a blackboard. The title is scratched across after the middle area was suddenly wiped away, to show the intensity of the writing of Mamet. It promises to be a very interesting show.
