There has been a lot of charity activity going on at work, which of course is a good thing. The next one up is a simultaneous chess match. A renowned chess champion, CHALLENGES all HCA Nashville-based employees in a SIMULTANEOUS chess exhibition versus 100 people. Pretty cool concept, and so the poster was born. I designed it as a companion piece to the golf poster collateral I did recently.
This is a teaser poster and other collateral I did for our company’s golf outing. The idea is to maximize the impact the imagery can have on an already busy and crowded cork board. Hopefully the simplicity and clear imagery will be more readable. The idea is to use typography and simple imagery. I had fun experimenting with the font typefaces and mezzotint coloring solution.
HCA IT&S holds an annual All Hands Meeting for all employees live at the Belmont Arena and via webcast. We hosted speaker Seth Godin to speak to HCA IT&S community about making a difference in their everyday wirk-life.
The ever busy Dead Workers Party has another podcast underway. It is called “Core Elements” and will focus on gaming as a whole ( read not only video games).
Wes Wilson over there asked for a poster to be drawn up with a turn of the century tinkering feel. I got to do this in the Art Nouveau style, which was great fun to investigate. Art Nouveau has alot to offer though it seems to be passed up buy the more familiar Art Deco and propaganda style posters of the early century. Also for part of this was a logo .
Have a gander at the sketch, the finished poster (which will be available in print soon), the logo, and a close up for vanity sake 🙂

These will be the launching point for a future project with the Dead Workers Party Network website.
