On labor day Yancy will be performing live at World Outreach and I was asked to illustrate some elements for a large back drop animation on a 42′ screen. These are heavily influenced by classic 2000’s Nickelodeon animation styles 🙂

Here are some sneak peaks…
READY, SET GO!
We had the opportunity to do 4 weekend services of Ready Set Go! a race themed performance.
Listen to the READY SET GO song by Royal Tailor here to get the full effect!
We did the design, production, lighting, choreography, costumes, prop design, vocal coaching and direction for the full performance!
Here presented is all the collateral, design work, illustration I did for the Christmas Musical THE CHOICE an original produced musical. This was a show produced with the World Outreach Church Kid’s Choir.
We wrote the stage-play, produced the show, scored the music, wrote the lyrics, hand crafted the costumes, concieved the lighting, designed all the graphics, choreographed the dance, directed the actors, vocal coached the singers, and trained the overall choir.
It’s that time of year again.
The past few months have kept me busy as I helped drama direct the World Outreach Church Kid’s Choir with their 2013 Christmas musical. This year’s show was WE THREE SPIES. The Director/Producer of the Choir and I took to some hefty rewrites to add in some more henchmen, heroic actions, character arcs, and classic moments of classic spy tales. Such as the Inciting Incident, Third Act Twist, and the Moment of Despair. It was like a full on lesson for a script workshop. I also had the opportunity to help design the stage scenes again as well as costumes. It was a blast!
The kid’s did a wonderful job in the drama. Also the choir sang beautifully with soloists. The entire performance was made even more impactful with full on swing dance, ballet dancing, and jazz dance numbers choreographed by my wife. It was a truly amazing evening and I thank God for the opportunity to use our talents.
Blackbird commissioned me to produce the marquee poster for their upcoming show of David Mamet’s Oleanna. Inspired by poster designs of the 1960s, specifically Saul Bass, the central theme of the show is the power struggle and miscommunication between men and women. The apple core speaks to the educational setting that the play takes place within, the yelling male and female faces show the power struggle, and the caption spells it out -The Original Power Play.
This year was a blast! My wife and I had the great opportunity to use our individual talents together again this year. I as theater director and stage background artist and her as dance choreographer. The show we produced with the World Outreach Children’s ministry was “The Secret of Snowflake County”. The entire production used both theater, song, dance, acting and choreography with 300+ children.
Here is a sampling of the backgrounds we projected on a giant theater screen the church had already in place for it’s New Years Series.
