The Choice Christmas Musical

Here presented is all the collateral, design work, illustration I did for the Christmas Musical THE CHOICE an original produced musical. This was a show produced with the World Outreach Church Kid’s Choir.

We wrote the stage-play, produced the show, scored the music, wrote the lyrics, hand crafted the costumes, concieved the lighting, designed all the graphics, choreographed the dance, directed the actors, vocal coached the singers, and trained the overall choir.

Go Glow Kid’s Choir Performance

This was a blast to work on. It was the meeting of church, kids’s choir, theater, gaming, design, chip-tunes, family, robots, illustration, and the 80’s into one explosive performance at World Outreach Church

I did the major creative direction, illustration, stage design, costume design, and even taped all the drums neon. It was fantastic! My wife choreographed all the dance and special performances. She did a great job!

Minute 2:45 is my favorite part — BOSS BATTLE!

World Outreach Church Kid’s Choir Christmas

This year was a blast! My wife and I had the great opportunity to use our individual talents together again this year. I as theater director and stage background artist and her as dance choreographer. The show we produced with the World Outreach Children’s ministry was “The Secret of Snowflake County”. The entire production used both theater, song, dance, acting and choreography with 300+ children.

Here is a sampling of the backgrounds we projected on a giant theater screen the church had already in place for it’s New Years Series.

HCA IT&S All Hands 2012

This year’s theme was 1964 kitschy world’s fair. This was also the first All Hands for our new CIO, Marty Paslick. We transformed the Belmont arena into a trade show floor with bistro seating, tall bannered booths, a chalk board walk of history, a large flagged grand entrance, 1964 era training video, stylized stage design, and even featured local coffee brewers tastes of Nashville. The video from the event can be seen here on YouTube.

Creative director and vendor consultant for stage production, internal designers, sign vendor, and stage layout designer

Co-produced the event for 1500+ field and corporate employees through presentations, collateral, webcast, and video.

Pacific Overtures

Blackbird Theater is at it again with an ambitious show and they asked me to help out with some logo work, stage design, stage elements creation and illustration. They will be producing “Pacific Overtures” by Stephen Sondheim.

The basic stage concept is a mixed media construction. They will be printing large 8 foot by 4 foot banner imagery from fuedal japan (when the show takes place) and using projection screens along with physically constructed set pieces.

Play On Con 2010

Here is the T-Shirt design for this year’s Play On Con 2010. I aptly named the design “Uncle Jam” after the main image of Uncle Sam….jamming… 😛

Not sure what color the t-shirt will be but the image sample looks to be a green this year. Enjoy!

The variations of Logo – Treatment VS. Core

There is a difference in a core logo and a treatment of a logo. Also the color usage (Ie: t-shirt spot color print versus CMYK full scolor screen printing).

I present a mark I did a few years back that I stumbled upon for a corporate giving campaign. It shows the difference nicely of logo pahses, treatments, and color depths.

Take notice how the plane changes per the need in the logo artwork to best signify action for the logo usage.

Metroid Family Reunion

I was thumbing through my old files and came across this joke picture I did for a guy who used the online handle of Metroid Composite as a joke reaction to Metroid Prime (prime numbers versus composite numbers…yeah I think he was a math major … more detail than you wanted here). Then I took the meaning of composite and made into a “composite” picture of a family of metroids. Anyways the image is funny looking enough without all the exposition. Enjoy.
